Last year, she dropped her second studio effort, S.O.S., which topped the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The album stayed at number 1 for ten consecutive weeks, being the only second woman to earn such a feat, after Adele’s 25.
Besides making waves in the U.S., the record also entered the charts in over 20 countries. The album’s success can be credited to SZA’s massive hit singles, the five-time platinum “Good Days,” the double-platinum “I Hate U,” and the triple-platinum “Kill Bill.” The album also spawned three more platinum-earning tracks, “Nobody Gets Me,” “Snooze,” and “Shirt.” With every single becoming a worldwide hit, there is no mystery that S.O.S. why sold over two million copies in the U.S.
The sophomore album follows SZA’s debut effort Ctrl. The album, released in 2017, achieved a phenomenal breakthrough after debuting at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The record also became an instant international hit after entering the charts in 11 countries. The album spawned the monster hits “The Weekend” and “Love Galore,” garnered SZA four Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist and Best R&B Performance.
In 2022, she finally won her first Grammy Award for the collaboration single “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat. Apart from the Grammys, SZA has earned several other accolades, including two Billboard Music Awards, an American Music Award, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, two BET Awards, and many more.
